Media Release:

The field is starting to take shape for this year’s Crown Australian Open Pro-Am, with an exciting lineup of Aussie sports stars and celebrities set to take on Royal Melbourne’s famed Composite Course on Wednesday, December 3, ahead of the main event.

Cricket icon Glenn Maxwell, four-time Paralympic gold medallist Dylan Alcott, four-time Olympic diver Anabelle Smith and NRL premiership winner Ryan Papenhuzyen headline the event as Australian Golf Ambassadors.

They’ll be joined by world champion surfer Molly Picklum, three-time AFL Premiership player Tom Hawkins, and comedy duo Matt Ford and Jack Steele from The Inspired Unemployed, with additional names to be confirmed in the closer to the event.

Smith, who has caught the golf bug since wrapping up her decorated diving career - highlighted by Olympic bronze and Commonwealth gold - said she’s thrilled to be part of the biggest Australian Open in many years.

“It’s a huge honour to be playing in the Pro-Am and at such a prestigious venue at Royal Melbourne. I’m excited to see which professional I’ll play with, and use it as an opportunity to learn off a pro,” Smith said.

“Having now started my golf journey, I’m so excited to watch a golf tournament in real life and be inspired by professionals.”

The 2025 Crown Australian Open is set to feature a star-studded field, headlined by five-time major champion and career Grand Slam winner Rory McIlroy, alongside Aussie favourites Cam Smith, Adam Scott, Min Woo Lee, Marc Leishman, Cam Davis and Lucas Herbert and former champions Joaquin Niemann and Abraham Ancer.

The morning pro-am field, which will feature the celebrities, will be held on Wednesday, December 3 at 7.30am, with the afternoon field to commence at 1.30pm.

Single-day General Admission passes for the Saturday and Sunday of the 2025 Crown Australian Open are now exhausted.

Season Passes and AMEX Ticket+ passes for the weekend are still available. Single-Day General Admission tickets for Wednesday's Pro-Am Day as well as Thursday and Friday can be purchased via Ticketek.
